HI! I’m Jennifer.
Life is good, overall. It isn’t always easy. After going through a divorce, becoming a widow, and a full-time single mom to one, delightful boy, I appreciate what I have (tangible and intangible) and enjoy connecting with other bloggers. Add cancer to the mix and a sweet spouse.

Year 2: Six-Month Check Up and Radiation Update
Between two weeks of radiation treatment and our remodel, my check up for September got delayed. Here’s why: – Radiation causes inflammation to increase, so we delayed my appointment to give my body a chance to calm down. The appointment … Continue reading

Counting the ways I’m grateful for COVID-19
This is just a start. Little Guy is doing remote learning online through his school. Full-time. It’s not worth the risk to me to send him to school when I’m a high-risk individual. I’m working full-time from home with Husband, … Continue reading

Radiology Oncology visit Thursday, August 27th, 2020
I went to see my radiology oncology team this past Thursday. We’re going to radiate the T6 and T7 vertebrae again. This time will be a different method than the last, so instead of feeling a lot of pain relief … Continue reading

Year 2, 4th & 5th month check ups & scans!
I didn’t mean to miss the 4th-month update. We left for a camping trip right after my doctor’s appointment on July 31st. My CEA inflammation marker increased again, and my oncologist bumped up my scans to happen in August not … Continue reading
Badass Moment Reclamation

It’s the Most Horrible Day of the Year
Sing it with me! Everybody! Five years ago today, my life changed forever. I woke up with that thought. I laid in bed and thought, ‘Five years ago right now, I found my ex-husband dead.’ The memories from that day … Continue reading
Sometimes, my eyes spit a little.
Today I woke up early, a bit before 5. I enjoy getting up then because I know I’ll have a productive morning. I had slept well, but I had weird dreams. I dreamed that I had a few things left … Continue reading
This. Is. Love.
A couple of weekends ago, Little Guy and I went to visit my mom. When we stay there, Little Guy and I share a bed. Little Guy LOVES this! It’s better than when I fall asleep with him after snuggling … Continue reading
Of All the Things
Of all the things I got rid of during my last move, a mere 7 and a half months ago, yes, I wish I had kept one thing: the boot dryer. Why, oh, why did I ever think getting rid … Continue reading
One Mug Lighter
Little Guy and I made hot cocoa after skiing one day this weekend. He saw the pure cocoa powder in the pantry and wanted to know what it tasted like this weekend. “Lick your finger, stick it in there and … Continue reading
